Mid life isn’t creating the problem- it’s exposing unresolved experiences, losses, beliefs, and patterns that no longer fit the life you’re trying to build.
The theory behind Brainspotting is that it engages deeper brain processes involved in emotion, survival responses, and memory, allowing experiences that may be “stuck” to be processed more fully.
You may know here your issues come from but still feel stuck. Or perhaps you aren’t consciously aware of how your past experiences are keeping you in the same re-occurring patterns. Being able to understand how your past affects your present is key information in producing the change you want. About Me
Meet Your Purcellville Brainspotting Therapist Kellie Tucker Boyle
Hi, I’m Kellie, a Licensed Professional Counselor who helps adults in finding the root issues of their traumas/injuries and equips them with coping strategies and tools to help them manage their symptoms.
During a Brainspotting session, I’ll help you identify a specific issue, emotion, physical sensation, or memory that is causing you distress. I’ll then guides your gaze to a particular eye position (“brainspot”) that appears connected to that experience. You’ll maintain attention on that spot while noticing thoughts, feelings, memories, and bodily sensations that arise. This is when the processing begins that normal talk therapy cannot access.
I’m passionate about this work because I know how exhausting it can be to live with feeling of questioning whether things could be better. I believe you deserve more than a life built around “good enough”. You deserve to feel like yourself, confident, and capable. I’m here to help you get there.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is Brainspotting Therapy?
Brainspotting is a therapeutic approach that uses focused eye positions to help access, process, and release emotional and physical responses associated with distressing experiences. It can help support the brain and body’s natural capacity for healing and may be used to address trauma, anxiety, and other emotional concerns.
2. What will happen during a Brainspotting session?
We’ll begin by identifying what you’d like to work on and noticing how it shows up in your thoughts, emotions, and body. I’ll then guide you in finding a specific eye position, or “brainspot,” while you gently stay connected to your experience. You remain in control throughout the process, and we’ll move at a pace that feels safe and manageable for you.
3. I’m worried about how it will change my thinking, should I be?
No. Brainspotting is not intended to change your beliefs, personality, or way of thinking. Instead, it is designed to help you process distressing experiences and the emotional and physical responses connected to them. You remain in control throughout therapy, and we work together at a pace that feels comfortable and supportive.
4. Why should I choose Brainspotting over EMDR or another trauma-informed therapy?
Brainspotting may be a good fit if you prefer a more body-focused, flexible approach that allows your experience to guide the process rather than following a set protocol. EMDR and other trauma-informed approaches can also be highly effective, and together we can determine which approach best fits your needs, goals, and comfort level.
5. What is the cost of sessions, and do you accept insurance?
My intake fee is $255/hour. My 55 minute sessions are $215 and 45 minute sessions are $190.
No, I do not submit insurance directly and am considered an out of network provider. I provide a monthly superbill to clients by request. Most of my clients get close to full or partial reimbursement from their insurance providers. You can use my free benefits checker on the fees page to see an estimate of what you will get back from your insurance company.
